Why SoBo Created The Regional Edit

Regional NSW has no shortage of incredible places to explore.

There are quiet camping spots tucked beside crystal-clear rivers, country pubs full of character, family-run bakeries worth the detour, walking trails that rival anything in the cities, and community events that bring entire towns together.

The challenge isn't that these places don't exist. It's that many people simply don't know about them.

That's why SoBo Regional Communications created The Regional Edit.

The Regional Edit is a digital publication dedicated to celebrating the best of regional NSW. Its purpose is simple: to support local communities by showcasing the people, places, businesses and events that make our regions special, while encouraging more people to get out and enjoy their own backyard.

Regional communities are built on small businesses, volunteers, local events and the people who quietly make a difference every day. Every visitor who stops for lunch at a country café, books a campsite, attends a local festival or shops in a regional town helps support local jobs and strengthens the community.

Sometimes all it takes is sharing a story.

At SoBo, storytelling has always been at the heart of what we do. Whether it's writing a media release, developing website content, preparing a grant application or helping an organisation communicate with its community, the goal is the same: tell stories that inform, connect and inspire.

The Regional Edit extends that philosophy beyond client work. It celebrates the places that deserve more attention, the businesses that deserve more visitors and the communities that deserve to be discovered.

You'll find recommendations for camping spots, fishing locations, walking trails, cafés, pubs, bakeries, markets, local events and hidden corners of regional NSW—not because they're the biggest attractions, but because they're the places locals genuinely enjoy.

As the publication grows, so too will its coverage of regional stories, businesses and community initiatives from across the state.
